Massive Brazilian Vaccination Raises Suspicions of Covert Sterilization Program

By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman

August 14, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The commencement of a massive, mandatory vaccination program in Brazil has raised suspicions among international pro-life activists, who note that the program is similar to others in recent years that have included a hidden sterilizing agent in the vaccines.

The campaign, which was begun last week by Brazil’s pro-abortion Health Minister, Jose Gomes Temporao, claims that its goal is to annihilate rubella in the South American nation.

Temporao, who has expended considerable energy to legalize abortion, claims he is concerned about the fact that 17 Brazilian children each year suffer birth defects from the disease, in a nation of more than 180 million people.  Rubella is normally little more than a nuisance for those who contract it, with symptoms that pass in a matter of days or weeks.

Although the number of children affected by Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) is less per capita than that of both the United Kingdom and Australia in the 1990s, Temporao is heading a mandatory program to vaccinate 70 million Brazilians, which would make it the largest vaccination in history. ….read more here..

(NaturalNews) James Turner, chairman of Citizens for Health, an international non-profit consumer health education group, declares in a press release that he is shocked and outraged after reading a report of the findings of a Duke University study that link the use of the artificial sweetener known as Splenda to weight gain and other health problems. “The report makes it clear that the artificial sweetener Splenda and its key component sucralose pose a threat to the people who consume the product. Hundreds of consumers have complained to us about side effects from using Splenda and this study … confirms that the chemicals in the little yellow package should carry a big red warning label,” Turner warns.

Could Using Splenda Make You Fat?

The study, which was published in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health Part A, provides “evidence that, in the animals studied, Splenda reduces the amount of good bacteria in the intestines by 50%, increases the pH level in the intestines, contributes to increases in body weight and affects the P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in the body in such a way that crucial health-related drugs could be rejected,” according to the press release. Instead of being absorbed as intended, Turner notes that medicines such as those used for chemotherapy, AIDs treatment or heart conditions could go right to the intestines instead. While the study was conducted using male rats, researchers were able to evaluate the results to determine possible side effects in humans. Turner notes that a rat study was also used by the manufacturers of Splenda to get approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in order to market the product to humans..….read  rest of story….

(NaturalNews) It is becoming increasingly common for parents to give their teenage daughters breast augmentation surgery as a birthday or graduation present, says Stephen Greenberg, a plastic surgeon from Woodbury, New York.

“There are girls and women who are devastated by the fact that they don’t have breasts and their friends do,” Greenberg said. “They don’t play gymnastics and they don’t go on dates or they can’t wear certain clothing, and I hear these things every day.”

Greenberg said that in recent years, he has seen a 20 to 30 percent increase in plastic surgery procedures among young people. He said part of the reason might be the increasing popularity of cosmetic surgery among children’s parents, or due to the example of celebrities.

Traci Levy, a professor at Adelphi University, said that the increase in plastic surgery may come from the rise in advertising for the procedures, along with an increasing public perception that cosmetic surgeries are common.….read rest of story……

(NaturalNews) The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) will soon encourage doctors to discuss the financial costs of chemotherapy as one of the side effects that patients should consider in deciding which treatment to proceed with, or whether to use treatment at all.

Many cancer patients know that they cannot be cured, but use drugs to seek a longer and higher quality life for the time that they have. For these patients in particular, the cost of drugs can be an important factor. Dr. Leonard Saltz of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center points to two different drugs for metastatic colon cancer, one of which costs $60,000 more than the other.

The more expensive drug does not cause hair loss, but can cause damage to hands and feet. While these alternate side effects are normally discussed with patients, many doctors feel uncomfortable discussing cost……read more here…

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is canceling nearly all his campaign events Thursday and Friday to visit his suddenly gravely ill 85-year-old grandmother in Hawaii, a spokesman said.

Robert Gibbs told reporters aboard Obama’s plane that Madelyn Payne Dunham, who helped raise Obama, was released from the hospital late last week. But he said her health had deteriorated “to the point where her situation is very serious.”

Events originally planned for Madison, Wis., and Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday will be replaced by one in Indianapolis before he makes the long flight to Hawaii. On Friday, Obama’s wife, Michelle, will sub for Obama at rallies in Akron and Columbus, in Ohio, said campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki. Obama was expected to resume campaigning on Saturday, at an undecided location in the West, she said.…….read rest of story..
