It is frustrating and a little insulting to see the FDA try to pass the buck like this, after all they are the only entity that stands between big pharmaceutical companies and the public with the power of keeping a drug from being put on the market. Working in a law office that specializes in defective drug lawsuits and prescription drug injury cases, I have lost all faith in the FDA and their ability (or willingness) to prevent dangerous drugs from being sold to innocent consumers. It seems like every month we are working on a new case involving a drug recall or injury caused by prescription medication. In my opinion, it seems like the FDA will put their stamp of approval on anything as long as the manufacturer's pockets are deep enough. They should take responsibility for allowing these dangerous drugs to be sold to consumers without going through the proper testing.
